Hong Yue

Hong Yue is a Reader in Systems and Control Engineering at the Wind Energy and Control Centre, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Strathclyde. Her research interests are on modelling, control and optimisation of complex systems, with main applications to offshore renewable energy (ORE) systems and process engineering.

Dr Yue has rich research experiences on the following themes: (i) model development of dynamic systems and networked systems, (ii) model-based system analysis including sensitivity analysis, nonlinearity analysis, robustness analysis, (iii) advanced control and optimisation of complex systems, and (iv) optimal and robust experimental design. She has taken leading roles as PIs or Co-Is for projects funded by UKRI, EU, UK-NSFC. She’s the author of more than 200 peer reviewed research publications including 120+ journal articles in the areas of systems and control engineering.

Dr Yue has served on editorial boards including Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence (EAAI, an IFAC journal), Advanced Control for Applications: Engineering and Industrial Systems, IET Systems Biology, IEEE Control Systems, and Guest Editor for International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Energies. She has taken leading responsibilities for over 60 international conferences in various roles such as Technical Program Chair, Finance Chair, International Program Committee member, Associate Editor, etc. She’s the treasurer for Chinese Automation and Computing Society in the UK (CACSUK) since 2017.
