Martin John Given Black
Martin John Given Black, male, 1960. Senior lecturer, foreign teacher of School of Electrical Engineering, Shanghai University of Electric Power. He graduated from the Graduate School of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Sussex in 1981, from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in 1983, and from University of Strathclyde in 1989. 1985-1989 Research Assistant, 1989-2001 Lecturer, 2001 Senior Lecturer at University of Strathclyde. The main research interests are the basic characteristics of insulation systems; Insulation system aging and failure; Development of plasma in the breakdown channel; Radiation damage to the insulation system; Collaborative simulation of the effect of space environment on insulators; High temperature insulation system; Insulation of pulse power supply system; Properties of nanocomposites; Pulse power supply switching; Application of pulse power supply technology. Partial discharge activity under low pressure; Partial discharge activity under combined AC and DC stress. Dielectric system modeling; Acoustic detection of PD activity. He has published 80 papers and 143 conference papers.
