Li Rong, from the Class of 2004
Li Rong, from the Class of 2004, went for further study at University of Strathclyde in 2006 and returned to China after obtaining a doctoral degree in 2012. He joined the China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI). He is now a senior engineer and holds the position of Director at the Market Research Division of the Energy Policy and Market Institute of EPPEI. Li Rong has received awards such as the Excellent Engineering Consultation Achievement Award from the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Association (CEPPEA), the Excellent Achievement Award from the State-owned Enterprise Think Tank Alliance, and the China Energy Engineering Science and Technology Award. He is recognized as an Outstanding Young Expert in the Power Industry by the CEPPEA and is a member of the Electricity Price Research Expert Group of the Energy and Water Supply Price Committee under the Price Association of China.Li Rong played a major role in drafting the national electric power industry standard Technical Guidelines for Incremental Distribution Network Planning and has contributed to books such as Answers to One Hundred Questions on 'Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality' and Theory and Application of Electricity Markets.
